Emotion Series Artwork

This is the artwork I created for an upcoming series titled, "Honest Emotions." Without a lot of context of what the series would be covering, I decided to play off the idea of a mask, without trying to be too literal. I found an image filled with paint blotches. It reminded me of how we often try to cover up how we feel to distract from how we are really feeling. The colors symbolize that, as well as the way the different layers of colors eventually feel clogged, or overwhelming. I then used a torn paper effect as the subject ripped away the mask she was hiding behind. I think my choices resulted in a powerful image that we can all relate too.
